Sarajevo International Airport today saw off its 900.000th passenger in 2017, what is a new record number of passengers in a calendar year at the biggest and busiest airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The jubilee passenger is Dina Ćerić, on board Qatar Airways plane to Doha.
The director of Sarajevo International Airport Mr Armin Kajmaković presented the jubilee passenger with a gift coupon for the Airport's Duty free shop, while the representative of Qatar Airways Mr Boris Žutić presented her with a free return ticket to any destination within this carrier's network.
The director Kajmaković emphasized that although this record is significant for Sarajevo International Airport, it is still just another indicator of an enormous growth in the current year. He added that new air services to be introduced early next year will certainly contribute to further increase so that we can expect to reach a million passengers a year.
Mr Kajmaković expressed gratitude to all employees of Sarajevo International Airport and all the airlines operating from the Airport for their efforts and dedication that enabled this record of 900.000 passengers a year.
The commercial manager of Qatar Airways Mr Boris Žutić said it was a their satisfaction privilege of the fact that the 900.000th passenger at Sarajevo International Airport was flying on board a Qatar Airways plane.
“It should be stressed that Qatar Airways started flying from/to Sarajevo just a month ago to meet a demand of its passengers who wanted to have a direct connection with BiH. By introducing this connection we directly support the local tourist industry enabling its further growth", said Žutić.
Finally he invited passengers to open new vistas by visiting Doha or any other of 150 destinations of this airline.
